The Challenge
Thunderbird Fried Chicken (TFC), a nationwide quick-service restaurant chain, wanted to reduce the impact of rising business costs without compromising on service quality. They conducted a review of all expenditure and were driven to reduce their payment processing costs, whilst not losing any functionality to ensure a smooth ordering service at their self-service kiosks and at counter. They also needed a payment solution that could handle high transaction volumes without interruption of trade, even in the event their internet connectivity failed.
The Approach
FEP PAY consulted with TFC and their incumbent EPOS and kiosk provider, WRS Systems, to implement a cost-effective integrated payment solution with built-in redundancy. Working with WRS Systems, FEP PAY installed integrated Pin Entry Devices across existing self-service kiosks and tills, and applied a seamless automatic offline switch, ensuring uninterrupted transactions whether the network is up or down. This extra layer of resilience means TFC trade 100% of the time without risk of revenue loss, while providing a consistent and outstanding customer experience. FEP PAY also issued a competitively priced merchant account, enabling faster settlements and streamlined reconciliation for TFC.
