British Grand Prix

The Challenge

In 2023, Silverstone Circuit hosted an astounding 480,000 Formula 1 fans during the British Grand Prix weekend for the most attended Grand Prix event in global history. FEP PAY was tasked with delivering reliable and secure payment solutions across the 280 food and beverage outlets around the circuit. With the high volume of attendees and transactions expected, the challenge was to ensure seamless and efficient payment processing to enhance the overall fan experience.

The Approach

To meet the unique demands of the British Grand Prix weekend, the FEP PAY team implemented a multi-faceted approach. A full fibre network spanning the 3 square mile site was deployed to support fast and efficient payment authorisation, even during peak periods of activity.

Industry-leading hardware, including fully-integrated EPOS tills and handheld terminals were strategically deployed across the site to facilitate seamless payment transactions.
